Why work with a coach?

Clients come to see me for many different reasons but often with a similar goal – to change an area in their life that they are finding difficult to approach on their own.

Perhaps you are already in a good place in your life but you have a particular goal or dream you would like to reach, and you would like guidance, support and accountability during that process?

Or maybe you have hit your ‘rock bottom’ in life and are not sure how to get back up and standing on your feet again? This could be for many reasons such as ill health, addictions, divorce, loss…

And sometimes people have a life that seems “perfect” on the outside – relationships, career, good health – but somehow it just doesn’t feel like that on the inside. Anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, overwhelm and guilt are emotions that many people are feeling in these situations – sometimes with no logical reason at all.

There are many compelling reasons why people wish to work with a coach, but whatever your reason may be, I would love the opportunity to help you be the change that you wish to see.

How do I work?

In our modern age we believe that our logical brain holds all the answers, and indeed it can be a wonderful tool to help carry out the actions we choose on a day-to-day basis. However, when it is out of balance – and out of control – it can be a destructive weapon and our biggest downfall. I personally feel that our heart, soul, gut instinct and innate wisdom are our greatest resource, and only when we align these with our logical brain can our true potential be realised.

That is why during our coaching sessions we won’t be just be focusing on practical areas where you can make changes; we will also be questioning the mind, learning to listen to your gut instinct and understanding the importance of your emotional health. When you work with a Wellbeing and Life Coach it will never just be about reaching a goal – it will ensure your wellbeing as a whole is the utmost priority throughout the journey.

Will there be ‘spiritual stuff’? If you would like to explore this then – Yes! Absolutely. And it was something I personally resisted for many years. Until I realised that ‘spiritual stuff’ actually meant kindness, freedom and unlimited potential – and so I woke up to spiritual, embraced it and made it my own. Sometimes the things we resist the most are there to teach us the greatest lessons.

What do I expect from the client?

  • To come along with a genuine desire to feel differently and create change
  • To be 100% committed to change – some of the ideas and concepts will be challenging but rewarding!
  • An understanding that coaching will never change the people around you – your boss, neighbour, partner or friends. The only person changing their lives for the better will be you

What can the client expect from me?

  • To provide a safe space where you will be listened to without judgement
  • To question and explore the ‘why’ behind your desired changes and what is holding you back from making them
  • To challenge limiting beliefs, destructive patterns and a life-time of conditioning
  • To help you change your story and offer enlightening new perspectives and opportunities
  • To inspire you and empower you to grab life with both hands and never look back

And perhaps the most important ingredient of our coaching sessions will be some fun and good humour! Many of us have forgotten the importance of laughter, smiles and joy, and how this can enhance every area of our lives. Whether it is seeing the funny side of life, letting your hair down and being silly, or simply sharing a giggle with friends, this is an incredibly important area to incorporate into each step along the way.
